Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 0.5 cups Fresh orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the chicken breasts by patting them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and orange zest. Set the sauce mixture aside.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they develop a golden-brown sear. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 4

Lower the heat to medium and pour the prepared sauce mixture into the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce, allowing it to thicken. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Cover the skillet and let the chicken cook in the sauce for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 7

Once done, remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the chicken for garnish.

Step 8

Serve the chicken warm with extra sauce drizzled on top, alongside your choice of sides such as rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
