Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 stalks green onions
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 100 grams water chestnuts
  • 12 leaves lettuce leaves (like butter or romaine)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 wedges lime wedges
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients: Mince the garlic, grate the ginger, chop the green onions, and dice the water chestnuts. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves carefully.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the ground pork to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until browned and fully cooked through.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, and sesame oil to the skillet. Mix well to coat the pork evenly in the sauce.

Step 6

Stir in the chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until heated through.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from heat. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

Step 8

Spoon the spicy ginger pork mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf, folding the leaves around the filling to form wraps.

Step 9

Garnish with optional fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side for a zesty squeeze of flavor.
