Ingredients

  • 500 grams beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 3 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 4 cups steamed white rice, for serving

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Add water and mix until well combined. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Step 3

Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned but not fully cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Lower the heat to medium-high and add the grated ginger, minced garlic, and red chili flakes. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce. Toss to coat the beef in the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the beef is fully cooked.

Step 6

Stir in the sliced green onions and cook for another 30 seconds.

Step 7

Transfer the Spicy Ginger Beef to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds.

Step 8

Serve hot over steamed white rice.
