  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 60 ml hot sauce

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 50 grams cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1000 ml oil (for deep frying)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Submerge chicken drumsticks in the mixture, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or ideally overnight.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, the remaining 1 teaspoon of salt, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each drumstick in the flour mixture, ensuring even coverage.
