Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork ribs
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the pork ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Use a paper towel to grip and pull it off if necessary.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel, then drizzle olive oil over both sides. Rub the spice mixture evenly onto the ribs, ensuring a good coating.

Step 5

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil to seal in the moisture.

Step 6

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

Step 7

Carefully remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap them. Turn the oven to broil.

Step 8

Brush a generous layer of barbecue sauce over the ribs. Place them back in the oven, uncovered, for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Step 9

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing into individual ribs.

Step 10

Serve the spiced pork ribs hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side, if desired.
