Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (approximately 10x10 inches) puff pastry sheet
  • 120 grams cream cheese
  • 100 grams salami slices
  • 50 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet into a smooth rectangle, if needed.

Step 3

Spread the cream cheese evenly across the entire surface of the puff pastry, leaving about a 1/2-inch (1 cm) border around the edges.

Step 4

Layer the salami slices evenly over the cream cheese so that they completely cover the pastry.

Step 5

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the salami layer.

Step 6

Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll the pastry into a log, making sure to maintain a firm but gentle pressure as you go.

Step 7

Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 equal spirals, about 3/4-inch (2 cm) thick each.

Step 8

In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash.

Step 9

Place the spirals cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each spiral.

Step 10

Brush the tops of the spirals with the egg wash to promote a golden, glossy finish during baking.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the spirals are puffed and golden brown.

Step 12

Allow the spirals to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
