Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh spearmint leaves
  • 4 pieces Black tea bags
  • 8 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (optional)
  • 4 pieces Fresh lemon slices (optional)
  • 2 cups Ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a medium-sized saucepan.

Step 2

Once boiling, remove the pan from heat and add the black tea bags and fresh spearmint leaves to the water.

Step 3

Allow the tea and mint to steep for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally to release the mint's aroma.

Step 4

Remove the tea bags and strain out the mint leaves using a fine mesh strainer.

Step 5

If desired, stir in 2 tablespoons of honey while the tea is still warm for a touch of sweetness.

Let the tea cool to room temperature before transferring it to a pitcher and refrigerating until chilled, about 1 to 2 hours.
