Ingredients

  • 500 grams Pork shoulder
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoons Ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoons Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 6 pieces Wooden skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the pork shoulder into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches each, and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, red wine vinegar, and lemon juice to create the marinade.

Step 3

Pour the marinade over the pork cubes and thoroughly mix until all pieces are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the pork marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

Step 4

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.

Step 5

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using an oven, preheat to 220°C (430°F).

Step 6

Thread the marinated pork cubes onto the soaked skewers, leaving a small gap between each piece to allow even cooking.

Step 7

Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven. Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes to ensure the pork is cooked through and develops a slight char on the edges.

Step 8

Remove the skewers from the grill or oven and let them rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve the skewers hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of lemon juice if desired. Pair with a side of crusty bread, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad.
