Ingredients

  • 1 lb Large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Capers (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 cup Dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 Lemon (juiced)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 loaf Crusty bread (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.

Step 3

Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Stir in the capers, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes, cooking for 30 seconds to release their flavors.

Step 5

Raise the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Step 6

Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip them over.

Step 7

Pour the dry white wine into the pan and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through and the liquid reduces slightly.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Step 9

Transfer the garlic shrimp with capers to a serving dish and serve immediately, optionally with warm crusty bread for dipping.
