  • 120 milliliters vodka
  • 250 milliliters heavy cream
  • 400 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 50 grams parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 10 grams fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 to taste salt
  • 1 to taste black pepper
  • 120 milliliters reserved pasta water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghettini according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 120 milliliters of the pasta water and drain the pasta.

Step 2

In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent.

Stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
