Ingredients

  • 400 grams spaghetti
  • 500 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 60 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0 optional grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 liters water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add 1 teaspoon of salt, and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.

Step 2

While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
