Bring a large pot of water to a boil with 1 tablespoon of salt. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions, typically 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta cooks, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
