Ingredients

  • 300 grams spaghetti
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
  • 100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 1 small, diced onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped (optional) fresh basil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Step 5

Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 6

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and grated Parmesan cheese. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss until well coated.

Step 7

Spread half of the spaghetti mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the meat sauce and sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese.

Step 8

Repeat the layers with the remaining spaghetti mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Step 9

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Step 10

Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting it into squares.

Step 11

Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve warm.
