Ingredients

  • 400 grams Spaghetti
  • 6 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 300 grams Large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 6 cloves Garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 1.5 teaspoons Red chili flakes
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 whole Lemon (zest and juice)
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese (optional, grated)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 2

While the spaghetti cooks, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Season the shrimp with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Add them to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until opaque and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil along with the sliced garlic and red chili flakes. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
