Ingredients

  • 300 grams Ground pork
  • 150 grams Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 50 grams Water chestnuts, chopped
  • 2 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 1 small Carrot, finely grated (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Start by chopping the shrimp into small pieces and add them to a mixing bowl with the ground pork.

Step 2

Add the chopped water chestnuts, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the bowl.

Step 3

Crack the egg into the mixture and add the oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

Step 5

Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the mixture into the center of each wrapper.

Step 6

Gather the edges of the wrapper up and around the filling, leaving the center exposed and squeezing gently to hold the shape. The dumpling should resemble a small cup.

Step 7

Decorate the tops of each dumpling with a pinch of finely grated carrot.

Step 8

Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil and then reducing it to a simmer.

Step 9

Place each dumpling on a parchment paper-lined bamboo steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching.

Step 10

Steam the dumplings for 15-20 minutes or until the pork is cooked through and the dumplings are firm.

Step 11

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
