Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets, skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth, low-sodium
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Directions

Step 1

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season them on both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 2

In a large non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the salmon fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Pour in the chicken broth and stir to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.

Step 5

Stir in the heavy cream, followed by the lemon juice and lemon zest. Let the sauce simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 6

Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and cook for another 2 minutes until the salmon is heated through.

Step 7

Sprinkle the fresh parsley over the salmon and sauce just before serving.

Step 8

Serve the salmon with cream sauce immediately, with additional lemon wedges if desired.
