Ingredients

  • 250 grams Prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 50 grams Water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 2 pieces Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Rice wine vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 4 cups Chicken broth

Directions

Step 1

Begin by chopping the prawns into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the finely chopped water chestnuts, green onions, minced ginger, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, salt, white pepper, and the egg white to the prawns. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Step 3

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the prawn mixture into the center.

Step 4

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly.

Step 5

Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together and press to seal, creating a wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 6

Bring the chicken broth to a simmer in a large pot.

Step 7

Add the wontons to the broth in batches if necessary, ensuring they don't stick together. Cook them for about 3-4 minutes or until they float and are cooked through.

Step 8

Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and transfer them to serving bowls.

Step 9

Ladle the hot broth over the wontons and serve immediately. Optionally, garnish with extra chopped green onions or a dash of sesame oil.
