Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground chicken
  • 150 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (soy-free variety)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 30 pieces wonton wrappers (soy-free)
  • 500 milliliters vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 small bowl water

Directions

Step 1

In a food processor, combine the ground chicken and shrimp. Pulse until both are finely combined and smooth.

Step 2

Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add minced garlic, chopped green onions, egg, cornstarch, soy-free oyster sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture into the center of the wrapper.

Step 4

Dip your finger in the bowl of water and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper.

Step 5

Fold the wrapper diagonally in half to form a triangle, then press the edges together to seal. Ensure there are no air pockets.

Step 6

Repeat the process until all the filling is used.

Step 7

Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep pan or wok over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 8

Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry each batch for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Using a slotted spoon, remove the wontons from the oil and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Step 10

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
