Ingredients

  • 250 grams Paneer
  • 200 grams Green peas
  • 3 medium Tomatoes
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small Green chili
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into cubes and set aside. If using frozen peas, thaw them before use.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and green chili.

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Step 4

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Step 5

Add the ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Step 6

Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

Step 7

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and let the spices cook for 2 minutes.

Add in the green peas and 1 cup of water. Stir and let the mixture come to a boil.

Lower the heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the peas are tender.

Gently add the paneer cubes and garam masala to the pan. Mix carefully to coat the paneer with the spices.
