Ingredients

  • 300 grams Chicken breast
  • 300 grams Beef sirloin
  • 250 grams Chow mein noodles
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 medium Bell pepper
  • 3 stalks Green onion
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 3 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Slice the chicken breast and beef sirloin into thin strips. Set aside.

Step 2

Boil chow mein noodles according to the package instructions, drain, and set aside.

Step 3

Julienne the carrot and bell pepper. Thinly slice the green onions. Mince the ginger and garlic.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the oyster sauce, fish sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set this sauce mixture aside.

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Step 6

In the same pan, add another 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and stir-fry the beef strips until they are browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside with the chicken.

Step 7

Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan, then add the minced ginger and garlic. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 8

Add the julienned carrot and bell pepper to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 9

Return the chicken and beef to the pan, mixing well with the vegetables.

Step 10

Add the precooked chow mein noodles to the pan. Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and toss everything together to combine.

Step 11

Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the noodles and meat evenly.

Step 12

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Step 13

Serve the chow mein hot and enjoy your soy-free mixed meat chow mein!
