Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomato
  • 8 slices sliced avocado

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix all the ingredients together gently with your hands or a spatula until they are just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat to prevent tough burgers.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Add the patties to the skillet or grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for full doneness.

Step 6

Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.

Step 7

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by a turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and avocado slices.

Step 9

Top with the remaining half of the bun and serve immediately.
