Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until softened and translucent.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.

Step 4

Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.

Step 5

Once the turkey is browned, stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.

Step 6

Add the tomato paste and chicken broth to the mixture, stirring until the turkey is evenly coated and the paste is well combined.

Step 7

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 8-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.

Step 8

Stir in the lime juice and give everything a final mix.

Step 9

Remove from heat and serve the turkey taco meat in your choice of taco shells or tortillas with your favorite toppings.
