Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Tomato paste
  • 0.25 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 minced Garlic clove
  • 0.5 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Step 3

Place the chicken wings in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the spice mix over the wings. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.

Step 4

Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5

Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Step 6

While the wings are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. In a saucepan, combine tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses, smoked paprika, ground mustard, ground cumin, minced garlic, and water.

Step 7

Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir occasionally.

Step 8

After 25 minutes of baking, remove the wings from the oven and brush them generously with the barbecue sauce.

Step 9

Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and the sauce is caramelized on the wings.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 11

Serve the wings hot, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or green onions if desired.
