Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 Burger buns (soy-free)
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 sliced Tomato
  • 1 sliced Red onion
  • 0.5 cup Pickles
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 0.25 cup Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the burgers tender.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a round patty about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during grilling.

Step 4

Once the grill is hot, place the patties on the grill grates. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side.

Step 5

Flip the burgers and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reads 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

Step 6

Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 7

While the burgers are resting, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill, cut side down, for about 1-2 minutes then remove.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers: spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom halves of the buns. Place a lettuce leaf, a burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, and the top half of the bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your soy-free classic grilled burger!
