Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • 1 unit Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup Plain Greek yogurt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray or butter.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Step 3

In another bowl, combine the whole milk, egg, and vanilla extract, whisking until fully mixed.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.

Step 5

Stir in the melted unsalted butter and plain Greek yogurt, mixing until the batter is smooth and there are no dry spots.

Step 6

Fill a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the batter. If using a zip-top bag, snip one corner off to create a small opening.

Step 7

Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.

Step 9

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Once cooled, you can glaze or dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
