Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, bread crumbs, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a patty about 1 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture begins to turn golden brown.

Step 5

Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to whisk until the gravy starts to thicken, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 6

Return the cooked patties to the skillet with the gravy. Let them simmer in the gravy for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 7

Serve the beef patties hot, topped with gravy and garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
