Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon, grated ginger
  • 3 cloves, minced garlic
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon seasame seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Pat dry the chicken thighs with paper towels to remove excess moisture, then sprinkle them evenly with cornstarch and black pepper.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add chicken thighs, skin side down, and sear until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Flip the chicken thighs and continue to cook for another 5 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, lower the heat and add honey, rice vinegar, fish sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, chicken broth, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 6

Place the chicken back into the skillet, coating each piece with the glaze.

Step 7

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 8

Once done, remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes before serving.

Step 10

Enjoy your delicious Soy-Free Asian Glazed Chicken with steamed rice or your favorite side!
