Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Eggs
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 0.5 cup Diced red onion
  • 0.5 cup Diced green bell pepper
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 1 Sliced avocado
  • 1 Sliced tomato
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 0.25 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tsp Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, red onion, bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients together thoroughly using your hands or a spoon, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2-inch thick.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked (internal temperature of 160°F). Avoid pressing down on the patties to keep them juicy.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns lightly in a toaster or on the grill until golden-brown.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a slice of avocado, a slice of tomato, and a leaf of lettuce.

Step 8

Spread a thin layer of sour cream on the inside of the top half of each bun. Optional: Add a few drops of hot sauce to the sour cream for an extra kick.

Step 9

Place the top bun on the burger and serve immediately.
