Ingredients

  • 4 pieces pork loin chops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 pieces granny smith apples
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth

Directions

Step 1

Season the pork loin chops on both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet.

Step 3

Once the butter is melted and the pan is hot, sear the pork loin chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Peel, core, and slice the granny smith apples into thin wedges.

Step 5

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.

Step 6

Add the apple slices to the skillet and toss to coat them in the spiced butter mixture. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but not mushy.

Step 7

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Return the pork loin chops to the skillet, nestling them among the apples.

Step 8

Cover the skillet with a lid and let the pork chops simmer for 6-8 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 9

Remove from heat and let the pork chops rest for 3 minutes before serving.

Step 10

Serve the pork loin chops topped with the cinnamon apples and a spoonful of the pan sauce. Enjoy!
