Ingredients

  • 500 grams Sugar
  • 125 grams Butter
  • 397 grams Nestlé Condensed Milk
  • 60 milliliters Water
  • 5 milliliters Vanilla Extract

Directions

Step 1

Prepare a square or rectangular baking tray by lightly greasing it and lining it with parchment paper for easy removal later.

Step 2

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and water. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.

Step 3

Add the Nestlé condensed milk to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low to prevent burning, as the mixture is prone to sticking to the bottom of the pan. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula.

Step 4

Cook the mixture for about 10–15 minutes, stirring frequently. As it cooks, it will thicken and turn a golden caramel color. To check if the fudge has reached the correct stage, drop a small amount of the mixture into a bowl of cold water. It should form a soft ball when rolled between your fingers.

Step 5

Once the fudge mixture reaches the soft-ball stage, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Mix well.

Step 6

Pour the hot fudge into the prepared baking tray and smooth it out evenly using the back of a spoon or spatula. Allow it to cool at room temperature for about 1–2 hours, or until fully set.

Step 7

Once the fudge is set, lift it out of the tray using the parchment paper, and cut it into small squares or rectangles.

Step 8

Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.
