Ingredients

  • 1 sourdough bread loaf
  • 500 g thinly sliced roast beef
  • 8 slices provolone cheese slices
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Slice the sourdough loaf into four equal sections. Cut each section in half horizontally to create sandwich buns and lightly butter the inside surfaces with 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.

Bring the broth mixture to a gentle simmer and let cook for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Reduce the heat to low to keep warm.
