Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fruit juice (any flavor, such as orange, raspberry, or lemonade)
  • 3 packets Unflavored gelatin packets
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Citric acid (for sour flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (for dusting)
  • 0.5 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of fruit juice and 3 packets of unflavored gelatin. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to bloom the gelatin.

Step 2

Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat the mixture while stirring constantly until the sugar and gelatin dissolve entirely and the mixture is smooth. Do not let it boil.

Step 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Spray silicone candy molds lightly with nonstick spray or coat them lightly with a neutral oil to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Pour the gummy mixture into the molds using a measuring cup or a dropper for precision. Let the molds sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set completely.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of citric acid and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to create a sour coating.

Step 7

Once the gummies are set, carefully remove them from the molds. Toss the gummies in the citric acid-cornstarch mixture to coat them evenly, giving them their signature sour taste.

Step 8

Store the gummies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For a stronger sour flavor, additional citric acid can be added to the coating mixture.
