Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 7–8 minutes.

Repeat the layers (noodles, sour cream mixture, meat sauce) two more times, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella evenly over the top layer.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
