Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye, about 1-inch thick)
  • 120 ml White vinegar
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 4 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper, ground
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 240 ml Beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine white vinegar, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, honey, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.

Step 2

Place the beef steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Step 3

Remove the steaks from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels. Reserve the marinade for later use.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks to the pan and sear for 4-5 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness (4 minutes for medium-rare, 5 minutes for medium). Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.

Step 5

Using the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir well, allowing the sauce to thicken. Cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 7

Return the cooked steaks to the skillet, spooning the thickened sauce over the top. Let the steaks warm through for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Transfer the steaks to serving plates and drizzle with additional sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.

Step 9

Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or rice.
