  • 1 Cinnamon stick (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the sliced fresh ginger and optional cinnamon stick to the boiling water.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 7 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool slightly for 1-2 minutes.

Step 5

Strain the liquid into mugs to remove the ginger slices (and cinnamon stick, if used).

Step 6
