Ingredients

  • 4 cups Milk
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups Mini marshmallows
  • 4 pieces Candy canes (optional, for stirring)
  • 1 set Edible decorating pens
  • 12 pieces Large marshmallows
  • 12 pieces Pretzel sticks
  • 36 pieces Mini chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar over medium heat until fully combined and warmed through (about 5 minutes).

Step 2

Add the vanilla extract and semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring frequently until the chocolate chips have melted and the mixture is smooth. Reduce the heat to low.

Step 3

To prepare the 'snowman' marshmallow toppers, stack three large marshmallows on top of each other for each snowman, using a small amount of water or melted chocolate as 'glue' to keep them together.

Step 4

Use edible decorating pens to draw faces on the top marshmallow (eyes, a smile, and a carrot nose). Stick two pretzel sticks into opposite sides of the middle marshmallow to act as arms. Use mini chocolate chips to decorate the buttons of the snowman.

Step 5

Pour the hot cocoa into four mugs, filling them about 3/4 of the way full.

Step 6

Drop a handful of mini marshmallows into each mug and gently place a marshmallow snowman on top as a floating topper.

Step 7

Serve with a candy cane for stirring, if desired. Enjoy your whimsical 'Snowman Soup'!
