Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Snow crab legs
  • 8 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Salt
  • 1 whole Lemon
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 clove Garlic (optional, minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (optional, chopped)

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large stockpot or Dutch oven with 8 cups of water and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring the water to a boil.

Step 2

While waiting for the water to boil, rinse the snow crab legs under cold water to remove any ice or debris.

Step 3

Slice the lemon in half and add one half to the boiling water. Reserve the other half for serving.

Step 4

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the snow crab legs to the pot. Cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to medium. Let the crab legs steam for 5–7 minutes until heated through.

Step 5

While the crab legs are steaming, prepare the garlic butter sauce. In a small saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over low heat. If using garlic, add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 6

Remove the crab legs from the pot using tongs and transfer them to a large serving platter. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Step 7
