Ingredients

  • 6 Flour tortillas
  • 6 Snickers bars (fun-size or full-size)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Powdered sugar
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 0 Chocolate sauce (for drizzling, optional)
  • 0 Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Set aside.

Step 2

Lay a flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of the tortilla.

Step 3

Place one Snickers bar over the cream cheese layer.

Step 4

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly like a burrito, ensuring the Snickers bar is completely enclosed. Secure with a toothpick if needed. Repeat for all tortillas.

Step 5

In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the rolled chimichangas seam-side down into the oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pan.

Step 7

Fry each chimichanga for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 8

In a shallow dish, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together.

Step 9

While the chimichangas are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Step 10

Serve warm, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired. Enjoy immediately!
