Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, Panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped parsley, lemon zest, Old Bay seasoning, lightly beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a 1-inch thick patty. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook in batches if necessary.

Step 4

Cook the crab cakes for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through. Transfer the cooked crab cakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 5

Serve the crab cakes warm with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing. Enjoy!
