Ingredients

  • 300 g spaghetti
  • 150 g smoked salmon
  • 3 tbsp capers
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 50 g parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.

While the pasta cooks, slice the smoked salmon into thin strips and set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Mince the garlic cloves and sauté them in the oil until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it warm for 1-2 minutes, then add the grated parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.

Add the capers, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to the sauce. Stir well to combine.

Add the cooked and drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss the pasta gently in the sauce to coat it evenly. If the sauce seems too thick, stir in a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.
