  • 15 ounces Canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 15 ounces Canned black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons Chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • 0.5 cup Shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell peppers to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.
