  • 2 pounds Ground beef (85% lean)
  • 0.5 pounds Italian sausage (mild or spicy, casings removed)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 0.5 cup Yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1.5 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese (sliced or shredded, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, diced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix everything together until well-combined, but don't overmix to avoid tough meatloaf.

Step 2

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf shape that will fit comfortably into your slow cooker. Line the slow cooker with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
