Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Fresh cranberries
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 whole Orange
  • 4 pieces Black tea bags
  • 2 pieces Cinnamon sticks
  • 6 pieces Cloves
  • 0.25 cups Honey (or sugar, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and set aside.

Step 2

Slice the orange into thin rounds, leaving the peel on.

Step 3

In a slow cooker, combine the cranberries, water, sliced orange, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.

Step 4

Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set it to the low heat setting. Cook for 3 to 4 hours, allowing the cranberries to burst and release their flavor, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

After the cooking time has elapsed, use a potato masher or the back of a wooden spoon to gently press the cranberries to extract more juice.

Step 6

Add the black tea bags to the slow cooker and submerge them in the cranberry mixture. Let the tea steep for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 7

If desired, stir in honey or sugar for added sweetness, adjusting to taste.

Step 8

Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the tea into a large serving pitcher or directly into mugs to remove the solids.

Step 9

Serve the cranberry tea warm. Garnish with a fresh orange slice or a cinnamon stick for presentation, if desired.
