Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 15 ounces Tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro (chopped)
  • 4 cups Cooked basmati rice (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, coriander, paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Whisk until well blended.

Step 2

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized cubes and add them to the marinade. Toss to coat the chicken thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours (overnight is ideal).

Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Add the marinated chicken to the slow cooker, including any remaining marinade.
