  • 28 ounces canned crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup red wine
  • 1 cup unsalted chicken or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0 grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
  • 0 fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.
