Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Directions

Step 1

Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper on all sides.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork shoulder for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
