Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons optional rum or brandy
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground nutmeg (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and water. Place the pan over medium heat and warm the mixture until it is hot but not boiling, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 2

Stir in the honey, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and vanilla extract. Whisk until all the ingredients are fully dissolved.

In a separate small bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth.
