Ingredients

  • 250 g Ground beef
  • 250 g Ground pork
  • 50 g Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  • 0.5 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Dried parsley
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 8 Streaky bacon slices
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, dried parsley, paprika powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a compact sausage-like log about 10 cm (4 inches) long.

Step 3

Wrap each meat log with 2 slices of streaky bacon, overlapping slightly to ensure the bacon secures the meat. Set aside on a plate.

Step 4

Heat the butter and vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until the butter has melted and is sizzling.

Step 5

Carefully add the bacon-wrapped meat logs (Slavinken) to the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, turning gently with tongs, until the bacon crisps and becomes golden brown.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and cook the Slavinken for an additional 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through. If necessary, add a splash of water to the pan to prevent sticking.

Step 7

Remove the Slavinken from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve warm alongside mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
