Ingredients

  • 12 oz smoked sausage or kielbasa
  • 1 medium head green cabbage
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Slice the smoked sausage or kielbasa into 1/2-inch rounds.

Step 2

Core and chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 2 inches wide.

Step 3

Peel and thinly slice the onion.

Step 4

Peel the carrots and slice them into thin rounds or small matchsticks.

Step 5

Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.

Step 6

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
