Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium, diced onion
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 15-ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups, uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped (optional for garnish) fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Step 2

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Step 3

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Mix well to combine.

Step 4

Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to evenly distribute the seasonings and pasta.

Step 5

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Step 6

Once the pasta is cooked, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover again for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Step 7

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
